Our History
Scope Intervention (Saving and Conservation of Our Planet Earth Intervention) is a dynamic, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization dedicated to spearheading local environmental initiatives that significantly contribute to the global battle against climate change. Established in 2012 by Kenfrey Kipchumba, an ardent environmental advocate deeply concerned about the alarming impact of human activities on global warming and environmental degradation, Scope Intervention has grown into a formidable force in environmental conservation and climate action.
Kipchumba founded Scope Intervention with a vision to harness the collective power of humanity to protect and preserve our planet. He believes that the future of Earth hinges on our collective actions, which can be either heroic or catastrophic. Guided by this vision, Scope Intervention has become a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change, implementing numerous impactful projects across Kenya.
One of the organization’s flagship projects is the rehabilitation of the Mau Forest Complex and Menengai Forest in Nakuru County. These efforts have not only contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions but also revitalized crucial ecosystems, benefiting both wildlife and local communities. In Elgeyo Marakwet County, Scope Intervention has successfully restored the Torok River, improving water quality and availability for surrounding communities and agricultural activities.
In Baringo County, the organization launched a fruit tree project, promoting sustainable agriculture and providing a source of income and nutrition for local families. The project has been a resounding success, with thousands of fruit trees planted and thriving. Additionally, Scope Intervention has organized a high-profile conference on climate change at Moi University, bringing together experts, policymakers, and activists to discuss and develop strategies for climate action.
Recognizing the importance of nurturing the next generation of environmental leaders, Scope Intervention established the Scope Climate Leadership Programme. This initiative equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to lead climate action efforts in their communities, ensuring a sustainable future for all.
Through these and other initiatives, Scope Intervention has made significant strides in promoting respect for human rights and stimulating socio-economic activities that contribute to poverty reduction. The organization’s climate change adaptation and mitigation actions not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also enhance local communities’ resilience to climate change.
Scope Intervention’s unwavering commitment to environmental conservation, human rights, and socio-economic development positions it as a powerful advocate for a sustainable and equitable future. With a track record of success and a clear vision for the future, Scope Intervention continues to inspire and mobilize individuals and communities to take bold, collective action for the preservation of our planet.
We do our best to initiate and support collective responsibility in environmental conservation, seek solutions for the ever present global social, economic and environmental challenges and promote informed decision making about society's development choices. In everything we do, environment must benefit.
To be the world’s inspiration in leading the fight against climate change, reducing poverty and building a safe and sustainable planet.
We are all leaders in saving and conserving our planet
